World Class Leading supplier of electronic automotive brake, stability, suspension and variable speed control systems for commercial vehicles, WABCO Automotive Control Systems recently announced the signing of a product development agreement and long-term supply agreement with Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. According to the agreement, WABCO will develop and provide long-term supply of double-cylinder air compressors for heavy truck diesel engines. Yuchai is China's largest manufacturer of commercial vehicle diesel engines and one of the largest diesel engine exporters in China. Its products are exported to over 50 countries worldwide. Since 2001, the production and sales volume of Yuchai's diesel engine has ranked first in the industry for eight consecutive years.
WABCO's two-cylinder air compressor technology utilizes WABCO's globally-available modular design platform, which has become an industry benchmark that helps engine and vehicle manufacturers improve cost efficiency and shorten product development cycles. With a number of technological innovation breakthroughs, the air compressors provided by WABCO for Yuchai are not only lightweight but also have low fuel consumption and environmental protection, and have further improved performance in all aspects. WABCO will first support the YC6K, and the air compressor for the Yuchai Engine will be locally produced by WABCO's world-class factory in China. It will begin trial production in 2010 and begin mass production in early 2011. The YC6K series engine, based on the latest engine in the world, integrates the latest technological achievements in the world and has more than 30 technical invention patents. The originality introduces the engine's reverse cross-flow cooling technology and the successful and innovative use of high-strength materials, which greatly improves the service life of the engine, and the emission can meet Euro VI standards.
