Cummins Authorizes Russian Joint Venture to Use Engine Emissions Technology

Cummins, the largest manufacturer of heavy-duty diesel truck engines in North America, said on June 25 that its Russian joint venture company, Cummins Kama, has recently obtained a license for Cummins Engine Emission Technology.

Cummins emissions technology has now reached the "Euro 6" emission standard. According to the memorandum of understanding signed by both parties, Kama will use the Cummins technology to produce a clean engine and push it to the Russian market.

Tom Linebarger, president and chief operating officer of Cummins, said: "We believe that by using our engine emissions technology, Kama's clean engines will gain considerable benefits from the Russian market with their advantage in energy saving. ""

Cummins Carmaker is a joint venture company established by Cummins Engine Company and Kamaz Diesel Plant in 2006 with a 50:50 investment. The company produces 185-300 hp B-series diesel engines per month and sells them to the Kamaz diesel engine factory and other Russian automakers.
