Chicago Still & Box Alarm fire, 2-23-14

Here's a message from Dan Shevlin:

Still & Box Alarm at 83rd Street and Marquette. Estimated time of arrival around 0640. Date: 2/23/14. A two-story ordinary building, 50 x 50 feet. Fire was reported on the second floor. Two aerial ladders and three fire lines were deployed. Engine 126 had a long stretch due to a frozen hydrant right in front of the building.

Below are some photos taken by Dan Shevlin at the scene:

These images give a good sense of the scene and the efforts made by the firefighters during this incident. It’s always important to recognize the hard work and dedication of first responders, especially under challenging conditions like a frozen hydrant and a large structure fire.
