New engine for the Elburn & Countryside FPD

Just saw this awesome new addition to the Elburn-Countryside Fire Protection District in Illinois! They’ve just rolled out their brand-new 2019 E-One Typhoon top-mount pumper, and it’s absolutely impressive. According to the Fire Service Inc. Facebook page, this rig is packing some serious specs. It features an E-One Typhoon chassis with a stainless steel body, which not only looks great but will also stand up well over time. Under the hood, you’ll find a Cummins L9 engine, providing plenty of power for whatever challenges they might face. The truck has a low hosebed design, making it easy to maneuver while still carrying all the necessary equipment. And it’s equipped with a Hale QMAX pump, a 1000-gallon water tank, and even a FoamPRO system—perfect for tackling fires efficiently. I snagged these photos from Fire Service Inc., and you can really see the attention to detail that went into building this beast. The first image shows the sleek profile of the Typhoon chassis, while the second gives a closer look at the front end. And if you check out the third pic, you can see Engine 301 in action—or at least how it would look parked at the station. This is definitely a game-changer for the department, and I’m sure the crew is thrilled to have such a capable vehicle in their fleet. Let’s hope they never have to use it for anything more than training drills, but if they do, they’re now better prepared than ever. Kudos to Elburn-Countryside FPD for upgrading to such high-quality equipment! [All photos courtesy of Fire Service Inc.]
