House fire in Deerfield, 11-13-17

On Monday morning, Deerfield-Bannockburn firefighters responded to a smoke report at 1131 Osterman Avenue. Upon arrival, units confirmed the presence of smoke and upgraded the call to a working fire. The fire was initially believed to have started on the first floor and was quickly brought under control. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Multiple fire departments from surrounding areas assisted at the scene, including Deerfield-Bannockburn Engine 20, Squad 19, Truck 20, Battalion 20, 2000, and 2001; Highland Park Battalion 33 and Truck 33; Northbrook Battalion 11, Ambulance 11, and Engine 10; Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Ambulance 52, Engine 52, and 5201; and Lake Forest Truck 421. Firefighters worked swiftly to contain the blaze and ensure the safety of the residents.
