Happy Pride Month, everyone! As we celebrate the LGBTQIA2S+ community and the progress we've made toward equality, it's also a time to reflect on the work that still lies ahead. That’s why we’re proud to introduce our company initiative, the Pride Alliance—a movement dedicated to fostering diversity, inclusion, and belonging right here at Rümi.
**Our Story Begins**
Mars Comeau, a passionate Team Lead in the Customer Care and Happiness Centre, has been instrumental in launching the Pride Alliance. As a member of the LGBTQIA2S+ community, Mars understood the power of visibility, support, and inclusion in the workplace. She shared her vision with leadership, and the response was nothing short of inspiring—full support and enthusiasm for her idea.
"I just wanted to start a conversation," Mars says. "I wanted to make sure we were talking about it. And look where that conversation has taken us—it's now part of who we are."
Last year, the first Pride Movie Night was held at the Customer Care and Happiness Centre, and it was a huge hit. The positive feedback from team members encouraged Mars to take things further. She reached out to allies and community members, and together they helped shape the Pride Alliance into a company-wide initiative.
“Many people shared their personal stories—of supporting loved ones, of struggling to be accepted, and of finding strength in community. These stories really resonated, and I knew we could carry this momentum all the way through Rümi.â€
**Making a Difference**
Just months after those early discussions, the Pride Alliance is already making an impact. Through educational resources, engaging events, and meaningful conversations, the initiative is helping both team members and leaders grow in their understanding of inclusivity. The first meeting was packed with participants, and many leaders expressed a desire to support their LGBTQIA2S+ colleagues in new and impactful ways.
“I’m so excited to see the conversation around inclusion go beyond just Pride Month,†Mars adds. “We're planning to integrate these efforts into onboarding and community initiatives, so it becomes a lasting part of our culture.â€
**Pride Every Day**
