Working fire in Chicago, 9-3-17

"Hey everyone, this is Steve Redick. I just wanted to share something quick that happened earlier today. So, I was still at my place over on 6079 North Naples when I noticed some activity nearby. Turns out there was quite the scene unfolding—a house fire not too far from here. It was pretty intense, and I managed to snap a few photos with my phone. First off, you can see the general area where it all went down in one of the images. The flames were really something, and it’s clear how quickly things can escalate. In another shot, there's Chicago Fire Department Truck 55 parked right outside, ready to jump into action. They had their work cut out for them, no doubt about it. Then there’s the Chicago FD Communication Van 272, which played a crucial role in coordinating everything. You’ll notice it’s parked strategically nearby, ensuring all the teams stayed connected throughout the operation. Over here, we’ve got Engine 7, looking sharp as always. These guys were front and center, doing what they do best—fighting fires head-on. Next up is Tower Ladder 23. This piece of equipment was absolutely vital for reaching higher levels of the building and making sure every corner was checked thoroughly. And then there’s Truck 9, another essential part of the team. Their presence alone gave everyone involved a sense of reassurance that help was on the way. Engine 79 also made an appearance, providing additional support during the chaos. Their efforts helped keep things under control until the situation stabilized. Last but certainly not least, Squad 7A was there too. They’re often called upon for specialized tasks, and today was no exception—they brought extra expertise to handle anything unexpected. It’s always humbling to witness such dedication from our local firefighters. Each vehicle plays its own unique role, and together they form an unstoppable force when it comes to keeping us safe. All these photos were taken by me, so feel free to share them if you think they might be useful or inspiring to others. Stay safe out there!"
