February 27, 2023 – Flyability, a leading provider of indoor drone solutions, has entered into a strategic partnership with Mirion Technologies (NYSE: MIR), a global leader in radiation detection, measurement, and monitoring systems. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in enhancing safety and efficiency in nuclear operations.
Under the new agreement, Mirion’s RDS-32™ radiation survey meter will be integrated directly into Flyability’s Elios 3 indoor drone. This integration allows nuclear operators to gather precise radiation data remotely, eliminating the need for personnel to enter hazardous or confined spaces. The real-time data collected during the drone’s flight can also be used for post-flight analysis, improving accuracy and decision-making.

To validate the integration, Flyability partnered with the Idaho Environmental Coalition (IEC), a DOE contractor, as well as several energy companies across the U.S. and Europe. One notable project involved collecting LiDAR and radiation data inside a radioactive waste storage vault. The mission was successful, providing critical information for future waste removal planning.
