Winfield FPD General Alarm 3-26-14

At approximately 4:10 PM today, Winfield Fire Protection District (FPD) responded to a dryer fire that had not yet spread at 27W212 Providence Ct. Chief 31 arrived on scene and found smoke and fire coming from the overhead garage door and laundry room area of a two-story, four-unit condo complex measuring 150x50 feet. A single line was deployed, and the fire was quickly brought under control. The response included assistance from Carol Stream, West Chicago, and Wheaton fire companies.

The incident highlights the quick response and coordination among multiple fire departments. The fire was contained early, preventing further damage. Photos from the scene show the efforts of firefighters, including the use of a Pierce tower ladder and a PUC (Portable Unit Carrier). Several chief officers were seen on site, emphasizing the seriousness of the call. This type of event is a reminder of the importance of early detection and rapid response in residential areas.
