Troy has just received their second Pierce Arrow XT engine, which comes in their newly updated color scheme. This particular engine, numbered 2221, follows the previous one, which was Engine 2211. The new color scheme adds a modern touch, setting it apart from its predecessor.
In other news, Algonquin has two exciting new vehicles currently under production at Ferrara. Like Buffalo Grove, they’ve opted for both an engine and a tower ladder. However, it seems that’s where the similarities stop. Reports suggest these Algonquin units are fully equipped with top-tier features. You can check out the first set of production photos from the Ferrara plant for both units [here](link).
Additionally, Algonquin recently acquired a new ambulance from Medtec earlier this spring. This addition strengthens their fleet and ensures they remain well-prepared for any emergency situation.
Meanwhile, the Countryside Fire Protection District in Lake County is eagerly awaiting the arrival of a new Horton ambulance and a tender from US Tank. These vehicles are expected to enhance their operational capabilities significantly. Glenview has reportedly placed an order for two new engines from Pierce. While both will feature the Arrow XT cab and chassis, one will sport a conventional pumper body akin to Engines 6 & 7, whereas the second will have a rescue-style body, similar to Engine 8, which was showcased previously [here](link).
Huntley is also looking forward to receiving a brand-new IHC 4300 Type I ambulance from Medtec. This acquisition promises to bolster their fleet with advanced features and reliability.
On another note, Highland Park is in the early stages of drafting specifications for a new ambulance. Their current fleet consists of Type III units mounted on E-Series Ford chassis. However, the upcoming vehicle will mark a significant shift, as it will be a Type I design featuring an F-Series chassis from Ford. This change reflects a strategic move toward more efficient and modern emergency response solutions.
These updates highlight the ongoing efforts across various fire districts and municipalities to ensure their fleets are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and equipment. Each district's approach reflects their unique needs and priorities, ensuring they continue to provide exceptional service to their communities.
