Hoping to stand out in the competition of wearable devices, Samsung demonstrated its health tracking wristband called Simband at its meeting on Wednesday. Using the information of light feedback from different wavelengths of your skin, Simband will track the wearer's health conditions such as blood pressure, respiration, heart rate, and the amount of carbon dioxide in the blood.
Samsung showed a Simband on someone's wrist in San Francisco on stage, showing a continuous heartbeat message, and you might also see a hospital-like electrocardiogram. The "Space Shuttle Battery" on the device allows you to wear the wristband 24 hours a day. You can charge it directly on your wrist while you sleep. Simband is designed around a new open software platform called Sami, which the company describes as a healthy platform that can also receive information from non-Samsung health trackers.
A Samsung spokesperson said: "We believe that the sensor will become more accurate in the future and will soon enter the market."
