Nissan Motors Joins India Commercial Vehicle Company to Create Light Trucks

Local time on the 29th of this month, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. and India's second largest commercial vehicle production company Ashok Leyland reached an agreement to establish a joint venture in the southern Indian city of Chennai to produce and develop light commercial trucks.

Both parties will also carry out mutually beneficial cooperation in truck sales and distribution. Ashok Leyland provides a retail network to Nissan, which allows Ashok Leyland to use Nissan's export sales network to export products. Since then, Ashok Leyland officially entered the field of light trucks.

At present, truck transport between cities in India is very frequent. In some big cities, heavy trucks are restricted to enter the city during the day, and light trucks are not restricted. This provides opportunities for light trucks. It is reported that Ashok Leyland and Nissan jointly launched a new car may be a light truck with a load of 6 tons or less.
