Chicago 2-11 Alarm fire 4-19-14

Here's what Steve Redick shared:

Yesterday, we had a fire at Madison and Karlov. It started as a storefront fire, but it turned out the building shared a common basement with adjacent structures. The 2-11 was just there for extra truck support. From the outside, there wasn't much to see. The rear of the building had a one-story section with a bow string truss. I took a quick walk around and snapped a few shots.

I took these photos during my quick walkthrough. Some show the structure, others show the response vehicles and firefighters on scene. Itâ€™s always interesting to capture the details that arenâ€™t immediately obvious from the street. The bow string truss in the back is something worth noting for structural integrity. Iâ€™ll be posting more updates as they come in.
