Chicago 2-11 Alarm fire 4-19-14

Here's what Steve Redick shared:

Yesterday, I was at the Madison and Karlov fire. It started as a storefront fire, but it turned out the building shared a common basement with adjacent structures. The 2-11 was just for extra truckmen — not much to see from the outside. The back of the building had a one-story section with a bow string truss. I took a quick walk around and snapped a few photos.

These images give a good sense of the scene and the response efforts. It’s always interesting to see how firefighters handle these types of incidents, especially when there are shared basements or structural complexities involved. I appreciate Steve sharing his perspective and the photos — they add a personal touch to the event.
