Automotive brake system structure

The brake's rotating element is fixed on the wheel, and the brake torque acts directly on the brakes on both sides of the wheel called the wheel brake. At present, the braking torque of brakes used in general automobiles comes from the friction between the fixed element and the working surface of the rotating element, that is, the friction type brake.

The wheel brakes for automobiles can be divided into two types: drum type and disc type. The difference between them is that the rotating element in the drum brake friction pair is the brake drum and the working surface is a cylindrical surface; the rotating element of the disc brake is a disc-shaped brake disk with the end surface as the working surface. Due to its strong heat dissipation capability and good thermal stability, disc brakes currently use disc brakes on the front wheels of cars.

Drum brakes are available in both internal and external beam types. The former's brake drum has a cylindrical surface as the working surface, and is widely used in automobiles. The working surface of the latter brake drum is an outer cylindrical surface. At present, only a handful of automobiles are used as parking brakes.

According to the different braking torque generated by the two brake shoes during the braking process, the inner-type drum brake can be divided into a slave shoe type, a double lead shoe type, a double shoe type, a one-way self-energizing type and a bidirectional self-increase. Force and other forms.

Disc brakes are available in both caliper and full disc type. The former is a part of the working face of the brake disc in contact with the brake caliper, and the latter is the entire working face of the brake disc which can be in contact with the friction lining at the same time. The latter is that the entire working surface of the brake disc can be in contact with the friction plate at the same time. The caliper disc brake used to be used as a central brake in the past, but is increasingly used as a service brake by various levels of cars and trucks. Full-disc brakes are used by only a few cars (mainly heavy-duty vehicles) as service brakes.

The structure of the caliper disc brake fixed on the bracket according to the brake caliper can be divided into two types: a fixed caliper disc type and a floating caliper disc type.
