Petrochemical Association Convenes Symposium on Foreign Enterprises in China

On December 2, the fourth conference of foreign companies in the oil and chemical industry in China was held in Shanghai. At the meeting, Li Yongwu, president of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association, pointed out that China's petroleum and chemical industries have entered a period of strategic transformation characterized by structural adjustment and industrial upgrading. Petrochemical foreign-funded enterprises should seize opportunities to complete strategic adjustments.
Li Yongwu stated that foreign companies in the oil and chemical industry are an integral part of China's petrochemical industry. Many foreign companies have certain advantages in product quality, process technology, and management concepts. They should seize favorable opportunities to adapt to the new situation and formulate The new plan will complete the rational distribution of core business in China during the adjustment of industrial structure and win the initiative in market competition.
Li Yongwu stressed that the Chinese market has great potential, and it must firmly believe that development in China is the right choice for foreign-funded enterprises. The petrochemical association will further strengthen exchanges and communication with foreign-funded enterprises, constantly open up cooperation areas, innovate development ideas, build platforms between enterprises and governments, and create a favorable environment for foreign-funded enterprises to integrate into the Chinese economy and participate in industrial development. In the future, the petrochemical association will involve more and more foreign-funded enterprises in the formulation of policy planning and regulatory standards, research on hot issues in the industry, and energy conservation and environmental protection activities in the industry. At the same time, foreign companies are welcome and encouraged to use their experience and technological advantages to play a greater role in the healthy development of China's petrochemical industry.
Yang Chaofei, director of the Department of Policy and Regulations of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, said that it will strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Petrochemical Association and encourage foreign companies to play an advantage in energy conservation, emission reduction, and comprehensive utilization of waste and set an example.
The conference was sponsored by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association. Nearly 60 representatives from 23 well-known foreign companies such as Evonik Degussa, BASF, Dow Corning, Dow Chemical, Bayer, and LANXESS attended the conference.

The difference between ASME/ANSI and API is the fabrication material and a higher rated API operating pressure.

ASME/ANSI flanges are commonly used in industrial process systems handling water, steam, air and gas. API flanges are manufactured for high strength operating refinery systems with products such as oil and explosive gases.

The flange standards API 6A and ASME/ANSI B16.5 have the same dimensions – but the API 6A flanges are rated for higher pressures as indicated below:
