National Fine Chemical Industrialization Base Settled in Fushun
On the morning of August 19th, the Fushun National Fine Chemical Industrialization Base was officially launched at a ceremony held in the High-tech Industrial Development Zone of Fushun City. During the event, Wang Yang, deputy secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and acting mayor, received the "National Fine Chemical Industrialization Base" plaque from Cao Jianlin, vice minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology. This marks a significant milestone for Fushun as it solidifies its position as a key player in the national fine chemical industry.
Fushun is well-endowed with petrochemical resources and has seen rapid growth in its fine chemical sector. The city currently produces over 800 types of fine chemical products, with 53 of them holding a leading position domestically and 32 reaching international advanced standards. Renowned institutions such as the Fushun Petrochemical Research Institute and Liaoning University of Petroleum and Chemical Engineering play a crucial role in driving innovation and development in this field.
The designation as a state-level industrialization base is expected to further boost Fushun’s petrochemical industry and accelerate the revitalization of the city's old industrial base. Liu Qiang, secretary of the municipal party committee, emphasized that Fushun is actively implementing the Shen-Fu urbanization strategy and working toward the comprehensive revitalization of the region. The Ministry of Science and Technology’s recognition of Fushun will enhance its national and global influence, positioning the city as a strategic hub in market competition.
Looking ahead, Fushun plans to build a high-level fine chemical industry park, focusing on optimizing land and energy use while promoting integration between production, research, and development. The city aims to develop competitive, high-value products and attract investment from top international companies, ultimately forming a cluster of specialized, technologically advanced fine chemical bases.
At the same time, Ma Rui, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and deputy mayor, signed a cooperation agreement with Dalian University of Technology and the Liaoning Petrochemical Planning and Design Institute to establish the Fushun National Fine Chemical Industry Industrialization Research Alliance. This collaboration is expected to strengthen the city’s research capabilities and drive sustainable growth.
Attendees at the ceremony included Vice Governor Teng Weiping, members of the Municipal Party Standing Committee, Secretary General Yuan Fang, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC, and Zhu Qiang, director of the Fushun Hi-tech Zone Management Committee. Their presence highlighted the importance of the event and the government’s strong support for Fushun’s industrial development.
