The 600,000 tons coal-to-methanol project was officially started construction on June 28, 2007. In November 2010, all technical processes were opened and the qualified methanol was successfully produced. Since the trial production this year, as of December 20, the accumulative total output of qualified methanol was 187,000 tons, and the project's smooth operation of the system has reached 100%.
The project design has a total investment of 3.495 billion yuan, covers an area of ​​69.6 hectares, supporting a construction of 7.1 million cubic meters of a reservoir, a thermal power plant of 2 x 25,000 kilowatts, and a special railway line of 2 kilometers.
