China Mobile and Ericsson Intel to complete the world's first cellular Internet of Things business demo

On June 29, 2016, China Mobile will work together with Ericsson and Intel to complete the world's first business demonstration based on the latest cellular Internet of Things technology at MWC2016 Shanghai.

The joint demonstration, Ericsson RBS6000 multi-mode base station equipment, with its pre-commercial version of the software based on the latest cellular Internet of things in the world, and Intel XMMTM7115 modem, through China Mobile's independent research and development of environmental monitoring applications and platforms to achieve the latest global honeycomb Internet of Things business presentation. During the demonstration, a number of sensors based on environmental monitoring applications will be on-site acquisition of the temperature, humidity, brightness, PM2.5 and other data information through the Intel XMMTM7115 modem via Ericsson's latest commercial networking equipment based on cellular technology to the China Mobile's environmental monitoring platform.

This demonstration marks the world's latest cellular Internet of Things technology from the standard to the product to achieve rapid convergence, as the product gradually matures, I believe in the near future cellular networking technology in smart meter reading, smart wear, smart home, municipal IOT, smart buildings, logistics tracking, wide-area things, things and other fields of industry is widely used, which will effectively meet the growing business development needs of the Internet of Things.

The latest cellular Internet of Things (IoT) technology in the world was recently completed by the 3GPP. The technology can effectively solve the requirements of the Low Power Wide Area (LPWA) Internet of Things (IoT) applications, and has the advantages of low cost, low power consumption, wide / deep Coverage, big connection, high transmission reliability and other advantages.

In order to promote the development of cellular Internet of Things industry and improve the cellular IoT ecosystem, China Mobile has set up a 5G Joint Innovation Center Cellular Internet of Things Open Laboratory dedicated to providing a complete test environment for industrial chain partners and promoting systematic equipment manufacturers and chipset Manufacturers, module manufacturers, terminal manufacturers, operators and application developers in the laboratory to carry out various types of testing and product development, such as: end-to-end interoperability testing, terminal and module testing, application testing, product conformance certification and many more. In addition, the lab is an open industry collaboration platform that provides developers with a standard API-based communications infrastructure that enables developers to rapidly innovate business, application, and business models.
