China's first planning of coastal shipping routes

The Maritime Administration of the Ministry of Transport of the People's Republic of China has announced the “Overall Planning of the National Coastal Ship Routing System” and the “National Coastal Road Master Plan”. China will strive to implement the ship alignment system in the coastal traffic-intensive areas and accident-prone areas within three to five years. The ship will sail according to the prescribed maritime route, just like the “dedicated lane” on the road.

The ship routing system refers to a system in which the competent authority specifies the routes, routes or navigable lanes that the ship follows or adopts when it sails in certain areas over the water, in the form prescribed by law or recommended. The “National Planning for the Coastal Ship Routing System” divides the China’s coastal ship alignment system into two types, the main line alignment system and the secondary line alignment system. The branch line system can be divided into major waterline alignment systems and ports. The two types of ship routing system will eventually form a total of 26 ship routing systems, that is, 6 route route ship alignment systems, 5 port (zone) ship alignment systems, and 15 branch line route important ship alignment systems .

The 6 trunk routes are the old Tieshan waterway, Chengshanjiao waters, the waters of the Yangtze River estuary, the waters of the Taiwan Strait, the waters of the Pearl River estuary, and the waters of the Qiongzhou Strait, which are commonly referred to as the "two gorges, two, two waterways," and five ports ( District) refers to Dalian Port, Qingdao Port, Rizhao Port, Ningbo Port, and Xiamen Port; 15 major waterways for branch routes; from north to south, it mainly includes Caofeidian Water, Changshan Waterway, Zhejiang Coastal, Minjiang Estuary, and Pazhou. Bay, East Guangdong waters and West Bay of Beizhou Bay Weizhou Island.

The route is a type of manifestation of the ship's routeing system as it enters and exits a coastal port and passes through a certain area. The “National Coastal Road Master Plan” clarifies China’s coastal route system that uses the main north-to-south waterway route as a main line and takes the sea’s important waters and major ports as its branch routes. Considering navigation safety considerations and capacity, the planned two-way trunk route The width is 6 nautical miles, the width of the two-way route of the branch line is 3 nautical miles, and the width of the deep water route is 1 kilometer.

In the Bohai Sea and the waters near the east, a total of 7 two-way trunk routes, 13 two-way routes, 2 deep-water routes, and 1 recommended route, and 2 south-to-Changjiangkou waters from Chengshanjiao, planning a two-way route between North and South It is the route (inner route) from the existing ship alignment system of Chengshanjiao waters to the existing ship alignment system at the Yangtze River estuary, and the other is the east of the vessel alignment system in Chengshanjiao waters, along the 123-degree longitude via the Yangtze River estuary, and the coastal waters of Zhejiang. , Linked to the route regulation system of Taiwan Strait to the route (external route) of the Pearl River estuary and Qiongzhou Strait. The width of both routes is 6 nautical miles. At the same time, coastal routes in the coastal waters of Zhejiang, Fujian, and Guangdong are planned for the navigation of small boats. From the North-South Route route to the main port of the coast, the port of local importance and other necessary port routes.
