How a Diaphragm Pump Works:
The pump is driven by an AC or DC motor. In front of the motor is a valve assembly with two to five chambers. Each chamber has a diaphragm behind it in the lower housing. As the motor turns, an internal cam pushes the diaphragms forward and back, creating suction that draws fluid through the inlet and into the outlet via check valves. The flow rate depends on factors like the number of chambers, cam offset, pressure, and fluid viscosity.
