Li Ka-shing splits Hong Kong electric lights and finalizes listing


According to reports, Hong Kong's richest man Li Ka-shing's power industry split the Hong Kong electric lights listed on the plan. Power Industry announced that the HEC will be listed on January 29 (Lunar New Year's Day) as soon as possible. The maximum market value will reach 63.4 billion yuan, and the amount of funds raised is estimated to be between 24.5 billion yuan and 44.4 billion yuan. The HEC will be listed as a stapled securities, and the subsequent annual revenue will be distributed to shareholders at 100. It is expected that the distribution rate will be up to 7.26 next year.
The HEC, which is mainly engaged in the power business of Hong Kong Island, has been approved by the Hong Kong Stock Exchange for independent listing. It is expected that the Lunar New Year will be listed before the Lunar New Year. Power has been notified to shareholders on the 15th, and an extraordinary general meeting will be held on January 6 next year to resolve the split of the HEC. The company's independent financial adviser, New Bailey, believes that the spin-off is in the interests of shareholders and is therefore recommended to shareholders. According to the electric energy, up to 10 HEC rights will be reserved, and the power shareholders will be given priority.
The Hong Kong Electric Company, which is independently spin-off, will be called Hong Kong Electric Power Investment. The estimated market value is between $48 billion and $63.4 billion, depending on the final sale pricing. According to the estimation of electric energy, electric energy can obtain 55.7 billion yuan in revenue through the sale of HEC assets.
In view of the profit distribution of electric energy in recent years, the contribution of overseas investment has become more and more serious, and the profit growth of HEC has not been high. Somerley estimates that without the power of HEC, the annual profit is estimated to be reduced by RMB 3 to 3.6 billion, but the liabilities can be significantly improved and the net asset value can be increased by more than 85 percent. As for the dividend payout for this year and the next year, Somerley believes that there will be no major changes and is expected to maintain the level of last year.
As for the listing risk of the HEC, the Hong Kong Government may revise the power company's profit control scheme in the future, and the HEC may have to bear more claims involving the shipwreck of Lamma Island. Electricity indicates that the total number of claims received or potential claims has not been covered.
