Cummins: Appoints New Leadership to Engine Joint Venture in China

Wang Ning took the post of Deputy General Manager of Dongfeng Cummins Engine Co., Ltd.

Cummins Inc. announced that Wang Ning, former general manager of Futian Cummins Engine Co., Ltd., has served as executive deputy general manager of Dongfeng Cummins Engine Co., Ltd.

In his new position, Wang Ning will closely cooperate with Huang Naixu, general manager of Dongfeng Cummins, to manage production operations, business development, market sales, customer support, and new product development.

Wang Ning will bring rich industrial management and manufacturing experience to new positions. During the three and a half years as the general manager of Foton Cummins, Wang Ning played a vital role in the establishment, operation and management of Cummins' first light engine manufacturing base. He succeeded in leading Foton Cummins to establish a production manufacturing capability tailored to a diverse customer base. Although faced with a series of challenges in the initial stage of its establishment, Foton Cummins under the leadership of Wang Ning has created a strong manufacturing capacity and production base, laying the foundation for future development.

As the first general manager of Foton Cummins, Wang Ning also established a good working relationship with various business units and functional departments of Foton Motor. Foton Motor is our joint venture partner and is also the largest customer of Foton Cummins. His familiar skills in managing key joint venture partnerships will also be a valuable asset for the Dongfeng Cummins management team.

Prior to joining Cummins, Wang Ning worked for Schindler China for more than a decade. He joined Schindler in 1991 and worked until 2003. The business area covers production operations, marketing, quality management and engineering technology. In 2003, Wang Ning joined the U.S.-owned company Shanghai Ametek Motor Co., Ltd. as general manager. In 2005, Wang Ning returned to Schindler as the executive vice president of Schindler China Ltd. and President of Schindler Elevator Company in Suzhou.

Prior to joining Schindler, Wang Ning was engaged in scientific research (1986-1990) at the Institute of Transportation Technology, University of Stuttgart, Germany, where he was an assistant researcher.

Wang Ning studied at the Taiyuan Institute of Heavy Machinery. He received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering in 1982 and a master's degree in mechanical engineering from the college in 1984. Mr. Wang received his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Stuttgart, Germany in 1990.

Guan Zhanghua served as general manager of Futian Cummins Engine Co., Ltd.

The newly appointed leader also has the general manager of the former Xi'an Cummins Engine Co., Ltd. Guan Zhanghua as general manager of Futian Cummins Engine Co., Ltd.

In this position, Guan Zhanghua will fully lead and manage all aspects of Foton Cummins's work including manufacturing, company operations, quality management and business development. He will work closely with Cummins and related functional departments of Beiqi Foton.

For the past four and a half years, Guan Zhanghua has been the general manager of Xi'an Cummins Engine Co., Ltd. and has made outstanding contributions to the establishment of Xi'an Cummins and the development of the ISM engine business in China. He worked closely with Cummins and Shaanxi Automobile, successfully leading Xi'an Cummins to overcome the challenges of the past difficult period, and through effective cost-reduction measures, to create a competitive product platform and excellent compliance manufacturing capabilities for the company's future development. Prior to his appointment as the general manager of Xi'an Cummins, Guan Zhanghua worked in Dongfeng Automobile and the Dongfeng Cummins Manufacturing Department, and accumulated a wealth of manufacturing and management experience. From 1985 to 1995, Guan Zhanghua worked at Dongfeng diesel engine plant, which was mainly engaged in the license production of Cummins B series engines. He has worked in the technology and production department and worked as a technician, quality engineer and workshop supervisor. In 1996, Guan Zhanghua joined Dongfeng Cummins as a manufacturing engineer, manufacturing manager, director, and factory deputy director.

Guan Zhanghua graduated from Tianjin University with a bachelor's degree in internal combustion engine.

Meng Jikui took office as general manager of Xi'an Cummins Engine Co., Ltd.

Cummins also appointed Meng Jikui as general manager of Xi'an Cummins Engine Co., Ltd. to comprehensively manage production operations, business development, new product development, and the company's daily operations.

Meng Jikui joined Cummins in 1999 as a senior engineer in the fuel system. He then worked in the current product support department of the fuel system. In 2005, he officially became a full-time black belt master in the Fuel Systems Business Unit.

In 2008, Meng Jikui returned to China to serve as the Director of Quality in China. In the past two years, he successfully led many quality improvement projects in China. He continuously promoted the optimization of the Six Sigma platform in East Asia and strengthened the construction of Six Sigma corporate culture.

Prior to joining Cummins, Meng Jikui was a design and commissioning engineer at the China Luoyang Nonferrous Metals Processing Design Institute Institute of Equipment from 1990 to 1995, and was a senior engineer at the Stant Manufacturing Company of Indiana, USA from 1998 to 1999.

Meng Jikui graduated from Harbin Institute of Technology in 1990 with a degree in fluid transmission and hydraulic control and received a bachelor's degree in engineering. He also received a master's degree in industrial engineering from Florida A&M University and a doctorate in industrial engineering from Florida State University.
