Clean and environmentally friendly geothermal power generation in Kenya

This is the Ocari geothermal power plant in Rift Valley, Kenya, taken on August 29th. The second phase of the expansion project of the Kenyan Okaji geothermal power plant has completed 70% of geothermal well drilling. The new geothermal well is expected to generate 280 megawatts of electricity within two years. Since Kenya began to develop geothermal resources in 1981, it has drilled 33 geothermal wells. Since geothermal resources are not affected by climatic factors, the power generation price is not affected by fluctuations in international crude oil prices. Geothermal power generation is currently the cheapest power generation method in Kenya. Geothermal power resources in Kenya are very rich, with a total of 7,000 megawatts of geothermal power potential.
