The tank capacitive voltage transformers (tank CVTs) invented and designed by the China Electric Power Research Institute for 1000 kV gas-insulated metal-enclosed switchgear (GIS) successfully passed all the factory tests. According to the arrangement, 1000KV tank CVT products made by Shandong Taikai Transformer Company will be matched with 1100KV GIS of Pinggao Electric for the transmission of UHV engineering Huainan station from Anhui to East China. The first prototype of the 1000-kV tank-type CVT was successfully developed in 2009 and passed the type test successfully at the Quality Inspection and Testing Center of Electric Equipment Industry. The end of 2012, the Taiwan prototype in the National Grid UHV AC test base for a year of live assessment. Tank 1000 kV CVT is our self-developed GIS 1000 kV voltage transformer, to break the monopoly of foreign technology, the construction of China's independent innovation of UHV transmission electrical path is important. The successful application of this product in Anhui Power Transmission Project laid a solid foundation for the localization and practical use of 1000 kV GIS voltage transformers.
