**INTRODUCTION**
The MD150 is a high-performance handheld metal detector designed for the security industry. It is ideal for body searches in crowd control, airport and border security, checking parcels and letters for hidden metal objects, and other applications where concealed metal needs to be detected.
**OPERATION**
1. Operates on one 9V standard or rechargeable battery. Insert the battery into the compartment matching the +/– symbols.
2. Turn the unit on by pressing the on/off switch until it clicks and the green LED lights up. Adjust the sensitivity by turning the adjuster anti-clockwise until the red LED is lit and a constant audio tone is heard. Then turn it clockwise until the red LED turns off and the green LED is on for optimal performance.
3. Hold the detector with the sensing face facing the surface and sweep back and forth at a height of 10–30mm above the area being scanned.
4. The presence of metal will trigger an audio warning and the red LED will light up. If the detector is held still over a metal object, the signal may reduce, so continuous movement is recommended.

The detection range depends on the size, shape, and material of the object. Typical results include:

**LOW SENSITIVITY OPERATION**
Press the low sensitivity switch during detection to detect only larger metal objects such as guns or knives, ignoring smaller items like coins or keys. Do not release the switch until the low sensitivity scan is complete.
**RECHARGEABLE BATTERY SOCKET**
Use a 9V rechargeable battery. It takes 4–6 hours to fully charge. The charging socket is located on the side of the device. Make sure to turn off the detector before charging.
**EARPHONE**
Connect an earphone for use in noisy environments.
**SIGNAL LED LIGHT**
The brighter the LED, the larger the metal object detected.
**VIBRATOR BUTTON**
A built-in vibrator button on the side of the device can be used in noisy areas or when audio alerts are not desired. Press the button to activate vibration, or release it to switch back to audio.
**NOTE**
- If the green LED goes out or the device emits unfamiliar sounds, the battery may need recharging or replacement.
- Remove the battery if the device is not in use for an extended period to prevent leakage.
- Store the device in a dry, warm environment when not in use.
