MAN Diesel & Turbo is upgrading the L23/30H generators due to the strategic internal conversion of the Holeby generator set from its production of medium speed machines to the production of low speed machines.
According to MAN Diesel & Turbo, the company will use the current value of 10% to make a crucial upgrade to the L23/30H generator. This will eliminate the need for new forms of recognition required by many classification societies, thereby significantly reducing costs and development time.
The upgraded L23/30H Mk.2 generator set will meet Tier-II emission requirements. In general, the original generator set will be maintained for 16,000 hours of maintenance, 720/750 rpm/segment speed and 12,000 hours of overhaul and 900 rpm.
According to MAN Diesel & Turbo, the company has released all the necessary documents to produce the Mk.2 generator set. The company also reported that the 5L23/30H generator set will provide a single-cylinder power of 130 kW, 720 and 750 rpm for the current model.
